wCw Slamboree 2000

Since I saw Slamboree this past weekend and that I have some time, I decided to please my fans with the report opf the PPV.

- Live from Kansas City Missouri, held inside the Kemper Arena on May 7, 2000. Happy birthday.

- Sycho Scott Hudson, Talented Tony Schiavone and Triple M, Massive Mark Madden will guide us through the night as our hosts.

- wCw Cruiserweight Champion Hardknox Chris Candido (with Tammy) vs. challenger The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea (with Paisley): Oh boy. This new Russo cruiserweight division is the best it has been since the days when Brad Armstrong was the Champ. This match was a high impact match-up that went without any glitches. Eitherway, Tammy hits TAFKAPI with a chair, Candido Skips his way over to the Body and pins the man who could be named Donna. He only gets a two. In the end, Candido hits a headbutt for the win. ***. This was a very strong match betwen two tough and legendary light heavyweights.

- wCw HARDcore Champion Terry Funk vs. challenger Screamin' Norman Smiley and The Mystery Partner: We don't see just who (nN) is the mystery partner, because he is wearing catcher's gear. Norman gets serious for a moment, but the partner gives the HARDest of the HARDcore shots I have EVER seen ! Terry drags the mystery man to ringside where we discover, the man is none other than Ralphus!!!!!!! The HARDcore Icon is back, the TRUE World's Most Dangerous MAN AND wCw's other LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE CANNON (Mach' is the other) has returned !! Does this mean that Norman is Batman ?? Eithewray, Funk somehow manages to defeat these two HARDcore ath-e-letes to the point where Funk retains the gold. ***** all for Ralphus !

- Curt Henning vs. The AB-Solutely Perfect One Shawn Stasiak: Talk about a good match up ! I think that the Perfect One has the potential of carrying Curt to a decent match. This is a see-saw match that ends when Shawn pins Curt with the Perfect-Plex. ***, a solid match with Shawn coming on top, which is good !! That was for Master P, Curt !!!

- wCw United States Champion Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner vs. challenger The Laughing Man Hugh Morrus (replacing the injured Booker): Hugh comes out first and tells the WHOLE WORLD that he no longer wants to be called Hugh Morrus, but he wants to be called Captain Hugh G. Rection. What a name ! I think I will call my kid that ! Eitherway, the Big Papa comes in and AB-solutely demolishes the Captain. Scott gets the win with the help of his ladies. Since he won't let go of the Steiner Recliner, Booker comes in and helps out his good buddy. ***

- Chris Shampoo Kanyon vs. Mike 'Awesome': *YAWN* BORING match up unti lthe end when Big Sexay interferes and helps fellow Millionaire wanna-be CCK. *. All for the Outsider.

- T-PAC~! vs. wCw Tag Team Champion Puff Pigwell: After nearly 10 minutes of hot wrestling action, Liz comes down (after knocking out Russo with a bat) and helps her man T-PAC get the win with the Torture Rack. But before the reunited couple could celebrate, the New Blood's new hired gun, the Main Event Chuck Palumbo comes in and with the help of Buff, racks up the former heavyweight champion of wCw. *****. A brilliant match between two in-ring geniuses, as we see the PPV debut of one of the better Power Plant guys.

- Natural Relic Rick Flab vs. wCw Tag Team Champion The Franchise of a Horrendous Federation The Dynamic Dude Douglas if Vince Russo interferes, Ric gets 5 minutes with him: Some weak brawling from these good buddies (in the back). Back and foward match until a guy in a Sting costume breaks the figure four with a bat and helps Shane get his victory. Ric figures that the guy in the costume is Russo and he calls him out. 'Sting' comes to the ring as the two scuffle a bit until Vince Russo runs down to the ring (?!?!) and starts beating up on Flair. Then the man in the Sting suit reveals himself to Flair. It's none other than David Flair !!!!!!!!! Then, Kevin Nash comes out to help his buddy Rick Flair, but DAPH-nee low-blows him out of nowhere. The trio celebrates with Nash and Flair lying in the ring. The match was *1/4.

- Sting (with Turkey) vs. WHINEpero: Sting walks out. He attacks the Dark Baby with a leadpipe for most of the match. Sting wins the match after the Stingaaaa splash(es) and the Slop Drop. -*.

- The Immortal Terry Bollea (with H-BAWMB Horace Hogan) vs. Billy KID'man' (with Torrie Wilson) with EZE as referee: Horace comes out with Hulk, but EZE send him to the back to make this an even match. Kidman tries his best (which isn't much anyways) to beat up the God, but he just outright fails. When Hulk has Billy pinned, EZE won't even go for the count. Hulk is Hulking up, but EZE stops the God for going to the big Leg. So what happens ? Hulk knocks EZE out. Hulk also debuts the HULK-bomb on Eric. Hulk continues to beat on Eric, but Billy stops the massacre and place Hulk on a table while he goes for a splash. Billy misses and Hulk covers him. Out comes Horace and he takes EZE's arm and makes the 3-count ! Hulk wins !! ***3/4. Anymatch where Hulk Hogan wins is an automatic *** !

- wCw World Champion Diamond David Arquette vs. challengers Diamond Dallas Page and The Chosen Slappy Jeff Jarrett (with Kimberly): If you're like me and have seen 'Ready To Rumble' over 10 times, then I don't need to explain the concept of this match. But I will do so anyway. There are 3 cages on top of each other. One of them is like the Hell in a Cell but with ladders around it so the wrestlers can go to the second cage above. The second cage has HARDcore items and the third one (on top of the second) has guitars.

The match begins, and sadly, David Arquette does nothing and stays out of DDP and JJ's way. After a few minutes, DDP climbs the ladder to the second cage. JJ follows and after a few more minutes of HARDcore cage action, Mike Awesome, OUT OF NOWHERE attacks and distracts DDP, but Awesome gets a Diamond Cutter. David starts to climb to the top of the 3rd cage waiting to knock out Jarrett. JJ goes to get a guitar from the 3rd cage. DDP gets a guitar of his own and gives it to David to stop Jarrett from reaching the belt. Then, DDP tries to get the belt but David WAFFLES him with the guitar. Jarrett now goes for the belt, and reaches it. Jarrett is the new Champion !!! He hugs David !!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! **

Wait, CCK comes to help to DDP by climbing to the second cage, but Awesome stops him in his tracks and throws him off of the cage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLTIMATE Line:

This was a good and solid PPV, but the ending was so shocking and so saddening. I can't believe that my favorite actor (other than Hulk) betrayed the millions and millions of Arquettemaniacs. I would recommend this show, but I'd stop after the Hogan match. To see one of the fines tactors in Hollywood (not Hogan) to not only ruin is promising movie career, but to betray his good friend DDP is an emotional scar that I must bear for the rest of my life.
