Another CLASSIC WCW pay per view. This tape belongs right up there with The Holy Trinity of PPVs (Road Wild 98, Fall Brawl 98 and Halloween Havoc 98). Well, after being BOMBARDED with e-mail after e-mail with praise of my WrestleMania VI rant, I decided to review another one of my all-time faves. - For the second straight year in a row, Uncensored hails from THE GREATEST LITTLE TOWN IN THE SOUTH; TUPELO MISSISIPPAY !! IIRC, at the initial UNCENSORED, Hulk got the KEY TO THE CITY the weekend of the PPV, but I heard that after the PPV, the mayor took it back. Harharhar, that joker of a mayor !! Tony, Bobby and that bull of the woods if you weeeeeeeeeeeeel, DUSTY RHODES~~~!!! are our commentators. - WCW United States Champion The TRUE LATINO HEAT The K-Dawg Konnan (with awll his dawgs out there) vs. challenger Eddy "I don't know how to spell my own name" Guerrero : On the night that WCW SQUARELY defeated New Japan or All Japan or Japan Freaks promotion at StarrCade 95, the show feautured a dark match between the then US Champ the One Man Gang and a young and VIBRANT newcomer, Konan. The K-Dawg won the belt, and proceeded to hold on to that belt until Rick Flab stole the title away from him at the travesty of a PPV that is Bash at the Beach 1996. Eitherway, EZE (Eric Bischoff) wanted to get on with the BORING match first, so here we have Konnan trying to work a good match with Eddy/Eddie/Edna, but that is almost impossible. So the match ends when Edna's secret area gets hit by Konnan's head by accident. Just for that, I give it an extra star, which makes it a ** match. - Lard Stephen Regal (with butler Geeves, the Earl of Eaton and Squid David Taylor) vs. The Belfast Bum Fat Fink-lay : When people ask me why I like wrestling, even when I know it is 'fake' (to quote David Arquette it 'Ready To Rumble' "IT'S NOT FAKE!!!"), I say cause it is real !!!!!!! But this match nearly exposes the business BRAHS. Talk about FAKE !!!!! Scott Keith described this match as being 'brutal', it sure is !!!! Finlay wins by D-Q -*** - WWF Women's Champion Madusa vs. Colonel Robert Parker (with The Studd Stable) : Now time for a match that is just the opposite of the last match, a classic Woman vs. Man fight !!! This is a precursor to those LEGENDARY Oklahoma/Madusa matches that took place ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY during the last part of 99 and first part of 2000. Anyhoo, Madusa comes close to winning, but Dirty Dick Slater helps Parker get the win. ***** - The Booty Man (with the Booty Babe Kimberly) vs. Diamond Dallas Page (with no money) in a Career vs. Kimberly and 6.5 million : OK BRAHS, the story here is that DDP was on a hot streak. He won like 10 million dollars in Vegas, he beat Dave Sullivan for hitting on Kimberly (but not befote Kimberly gave Dave his new pet, RALPH THE RABBIT~~~! ..... and Disco Inferno made his first on-screen WCW appearance as a man in a giant rabbit suit !!!) and got his first taste of gold after many years in the busniess, at Fall Brawl 95 when he won the TV belt from the MIGHTY RENEGADE (despite the fact that Jimmy Hart PROGRAMMED him to beat Page). When Johnny B Badd failed to appear on WCW Saturday Night for his US title shot against Sting, we discovered that DDP's bodyguard Maxx Muscle ("Absolutely") let the air out of Johnny's tires on purpose so he could miss his US shot. This set up a TV title bout at Halloween Havoc; DDP lost the title. DDP wanted a rematch at World War 3, but Johnny would only offer it if DDP put Kimberly 'on the line' in exchange; DDP accepted. DDP lost. In February, DDP wanted another rematch, this time at SuperBrawl. Johnny accepted, only if he put up the 6.5 million $. DDP accepted again, and he lost again. DDP was put in the streets, and was forced to pawn off his jewelry to Disco Inferno and such. So, now DDP offered an 'All or Nothing' match at Uncensored where he Johnny would put Kimberly, the money and the title on the line against DDP's career. But there was a problem. The problem was that EZE KICKED Johnny B Badd out of WCW (right before Lex Luger beat Johnny for the TV title) and was rumored to say 'As long as I am in WCW, you will never work here', and a week ago, I heard a rumor that Marc Mero might appear on the ALL-NEW, ALL-IMPROVED, THE LIFE CHANGING NITRO OF THE NEW RUSSO-BISCHOFF ERA ! Eitherway, Johnny's replacement the Booty Man (Tony tells us that the Booty Man was a spy for Hulk Hogan inside the Dungeon of Doom - the Booty Man was the ZODIAC~~!, YES, NO !!!) who had taken Kimberly as his manager. So now, it was only Kimberly and the money against DDP's career. DDP accepted to these terms again. He lost. * After this match we see DDP in the streets and even working at PWI as an intern, before being fired. Shortly thereafter, the MYSTERIOUS BENEFACTOR saves DDP and enters him into the Slamboree 96 Lethal Lottery where DDP wins the Battle Bowl Lord of the Ring ring. The rest is, as you say BRAHS, history. - The (Son of Ander, The) Gaint vs. THE LOCH NESS MONSTAAAAAA~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!! : Oh boy !!! Talk about your mat classic BRAH !! They don't get any better than this !! When you talk about GAINT matches, you must mention this !! LOCH NESS was by far the BEST BIG MAN IN THE BUSINESS (TM Tony Schiavone) at this point (Kevin Nash was just lazy here). Anyhoo, after an AWESOME minute or two, the Gaint finishes off the Loch Ness MONSTAAAA with a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG legdrop. This ALMOST rivals Hogan/Warrior I and/or II. ******** - (One half of the) WCW Tag Team Champion(s) Sting and Booker T (without The Total Package, but with Stevie Ray, but without the slapjack) vs. The Road Warriors (without Rocko and Paul Ellering) in a Chicago Street Fight : WOW ! A THIRTY minute street fight !!! I'm sure Animal and Hawk saw a lot of those when they were young. This is just too much to describe into words ! ***** This is a really enthralling match ! - The Immortal Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage vs. The Alliance To End Hulkamania (Relic Rick Flab, Double Ancient Arn Anderson, the FACE OF TERROR Meng, the Babarian, TaskMaster Kevin Sullivan, WCW Tag Team and Television Champion Lex Luger, the ULLLLLLLTIMATE Solution and Z-Gangsa with Jimmy Hart, Woman and Elizabeth) in a Triple Cage Match of Doom : OH BOY !!!!!!! The set-up is that there are FOUR cages, one on top of the other. Hogan and Savage start in the cage highest from the bottom of ringside and must go through EACH cage in order to win the match. IIRC, they start with the Faces of Fear, then go to Sullivan/Luger, then Flair/Arn and finally Gangsta/Solution. After many many minutes of ABSOLUTE CHAOS - the Booty Man hands Hulk and Mach a FRYING PAN so they can hit Flab with it !!!! - Macho Man gets the pin on Flab. Instant classic. ********* How can anyone humanly hate this match ???
